AQUA, TANGERINE, & WOOD STYLE SHOOT

We love being a part of amazing style shoots and this shoot is a true show stopper!  Tangerine and Turquoise are the bold colors of the year that  join together to create this modern, yet rustic style shoot.
Check out a special feature on Glamour and Grace as well as Shalynne Imaging Photography (the photographers blog) for more fabulous photos from this stunning shoot!
Combining patterns is a hot trend for 2012 and this cake takes the ever popular chevron and marries it with a geometric square pattern.  Two hand-made sugar ranunculus add a pop of color.

Burberry Purse

Creating every day objects out of cake is not always an easy task, especially if the real thing is sitting right next to the cake.  This Burberry purse cake was designed after the birthday girls favorite pattern and was created by airbrushing a series of hand made stencils onto fondant.

Beaded Wedding Gown

Custom designs are certainly the specialty here at Intricate Icings.  We love using elements from the event to guide the design process, but wedding gowns are by far Rachael’s favorite piece of inspiration.  This cake was inspired by the brides beautiful beaded wedding gown.  Thank you Amy Michelle Photography for these amazing photos.  Check out Amy’s blog for more stunning photos from Armando and Lindsay’s wedding.

I really love how the embroidery on the front and reverse just sets off this really wonderfully iced cake. Beautiful icing work!

Pink Peony

We typically wait for photographer pictures before we post about our cakes, but sometimes we love the design so much that we just can’t wait!  This elegant floral design was inspired by the Anthropologie bridesmaid dresses and the floral centerpieces.

We created a flat floral design to mimic the pattern of the dress and then added a  3-D sugar peony and ranunculus to compliment the pattern.

Tried for One, but Got Two

We love baby cakes here at intricate Icings.  They are just so adorable, but then again isn’t anything baby related super adorable? And a special cake for twins is double the fun!  Everything seen here is fully edible with the exception of one very large dowel!
